Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-18

This Privacy Policy describes how Best Asia Lawyers (the “Site”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit bestasialawyers.com or submit an enquiry through the contact form.

1. What we collect

When you submit the contact form on this Site, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your organisation (optional);
  • the jurisdiction(s) you indicate (optional);
  • the message text you provide.

We also store a small functional cookie (bal_locale) to remember your preferred display language (English or Chinese). This cookie does not identify you and is not used for tracking.

Our web server records standard access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for the purpose of operating and securing the Site. These logs are retained for no longer than 30 days.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services on this Site.

2. Why we collect it

Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry, to evaluate any potential engagement and, if appropriate, to route your enquiry to qualified counsel. We do not sell, rent or share enquiry data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Where it is stored

Enquiries are stored on a server located in the United States and operated by Best Asia Lawyers. Access is restricted by authentication and is limited to the principal and authorised support personnel.

If you are located in mainland China, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with cross-border data transfer rules, you should be aware that submitting an enquiry involves a cross-border transfer of personal information to the server location described above. By submitting the form you consent to that transfer.

4. How long we keep it

Enquiry submissions are retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond and to maintain a record of communications, typically up to 24 months from the date of last contact, after which they are deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion at any time using the contact details below.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • withdraw any consent you have previously given to the processing of your personal information;
  • lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, please email contact@bestasialawyers.com.

6. Confidentiality and no attorney–client relationship

Submitting an enquiry through this Site does not create an attorney–client relationship. Please do not send confidential or privileged information in your first message. We will confirm in writing if and when an engagement is formed.

7. Security

The Site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry submissions are stored in access-controlled files on the server. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page indicates when the Policy was last revised.

9. Contact

For any question about this Privacy Policy or your personal information, please contact contact@bestasialawyers.com.
